Allah in the name of the most Affectionate the Merciful. | بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ |
1. By the Mount. | 1. وَ الطُّوْرِۙ۱ |
2. And by the Book inscribed. | 2. وَ كِتٰبٍ مَّسْطُوْرٍۙ۲ |
3. Which is written in an open sheet. | 3. فِیْ رَقٍّ مَّنْشُوْرٍۙ۳ |
4. And by the frequented House. | 4. وَّ الْبَیْتِ الْمَعْمُوْرِۙ۴ |
5. And by the lofty roof. | 5. وَ السَّقْفِ الْمَرْفُوْعِۙ۵ |
6. And by the burning sea. | 6. وَ الْبَحْرِ الْمَسْجُوْرِۙ۶ |
7. Surely, the torment of your Lord is certainly to occur; | 7. اِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَاقِعٌۙ۷ |
8. There is none to avert it. | 8. مَّا لَهٗ مِنْ دَافِعٍۙ۸ |
9. The day when the heaven will shake with awful shaking. | 9. یَّوْمَ تَمُوْرُ السَّمَآءُ مَوْرًاۙ۹ |
10. And the mountain will move with an awful movement | 10. وَّ تَسِیْرُ الْجِبَالُ سَیْرًاؕ۱۰ |
11. Woe is then on that day to the beliers. | 11. فَوَیْلٌ یَّوْمَىِٕذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِیْنَۙ۱۱ |
12. Those who are playing in idle avocation. | 12. الَّذِیْنَ هُمْ فِیْ خَوْضٍ یَّلْعَبُوْنَۘ۱۲ |
13. The day when they shall be driven towards the hell with forceful pushing. | 13. یَوْمَ یُدَعُّوْنَ اِلٰى نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّاؕ۱۳ |
14. This is the Fire, which you used to belie. | 14. هٰذِهِ النَّارُ الَّتِیْ كُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُوْنَ۱۴ |
15. Is this magic? or you do not perceive. | 15. اَفَسِحْرٌ هٰذَاۤ اَمْ اَنْتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُوْنَۚ۱۵ |
16. Go into it, now whether you be patient or be not patient, all is equal to you. You are merely recompensed for what you used to do. | 16. اِصْلَوْهَا فَاصْبِرُوْۤا اَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوْا١ۚ سَوَآءٌ عَلَیْكُمْ١ؕ اِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَ۱۶ |
17. Undoubtedly, the pious are in gardens and in delight. | 17. اِنَّ الْمُتَّقِیْنَ فِیْ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ نَعِیْمٍۙ۱۷ |
18. They are happy what their Lord has bestowed them, and their Lord has saved them from the fire. | 18. فٰكِهِیْنَ بِمَاۤ اٰتٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ١ۚ وَ وَقٰىهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِیْمِ۱۸ |
19. Eat and Drink with pleasure for what you were doing. | 19. كُلُوْا وَ اشْرَبُوْا هَنِیْٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُوْنَۙ۱۹ |
20. Reclining in couches which are spread in rows, and We got them married with fair maidens having wide beautiful eyes. | 20. مُتَّكِـِٕیْنَ عَلٰى سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوْفَةٍ١ۚ وَ زَوَّجْنٰهُمْ بِحُوْرٍ عِیْنٍ۲۰ |
21. And those who believed and whose off-spring followed them with faith. We joined them with their offspring and diminished not anything from. their deeds. All men are pledged in their deeds. | 21. وَ الَّذِیْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ اتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّیَّتُهُمْ بِاِیْمَانٍ اَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّیَّتَهُمْ وَ مَاۤ اَلَتْنٰهُمْ مِّنْ عَمَلِهِمْ مِّنْ شَیْءٍ١ؕ كُلُّ امْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِیْنٌ۲۱ |
22. And We helped them with fruits and meat, anything they desire. | 22. وَ اَمْدَدْنٰهُمْ بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَّ لَحْمٍ مِّمَّا یَشْتَهُوْنَ۲۲ |
23. They pass from one to another, a cup wherein is neither absurdity nor sin. | 23. یَتَنَازَعُوْنَ فِیْهَا كَاْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِیْهَا وَ لَا تَاْثِیْمٌ۲۳ |
24. And the youths in their service will go round them, as if they are pearls preserved concealed. | 24. وَ یَطُوْفُ عَلَیْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَاَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُوْنٌ۲۴ |
25. And of them one faced another asking questions. | 25. وَ اَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلٰى بَعْضٍ یَّتَسَآءَلُوْنَ۲۵ |
26. They said, verily, before this we were in our families afraid'. | 26. قَالُوْۤا اِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِیْۤ اَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِیْنَ۲۶ |
27. Therefore Allah favoured us and saved us from the torment of scorching hot wind. | 27. فَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ عَلَیْنَا وَ وَقٰىنَا عَذَابَ السَّمُوْمِ۲۷ |
28. Verily, we had worshipped Him in our first life. Undoubtedly, He is the Beneficent, the Merciful. | 28. اِنَّا كُنَّا مِنْ قَبْلُ نَدْعُوْهُ١ؕ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِیْمُ۠۲۸ |
29. Then (O beloved Prophet) admonish. By the grace of Allah neither you are a sooth sayer nor a madman. | 29. فَذَكِّرْ فَمَاۤ اَنْتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍ وَّ لَا مَجْنُوْنٍؕ۲۹ |
30. Or they say, 'He is a poet, we are waiting for the calamity of the time coming on him' | 30. اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ شَاعِرٌ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهٖ رَیْبَ الْمَنُوْنِ۳۰ |
31. Say, you, 'keep on waiting, I am too waiting with you'. | 31. قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوْا فَاِنِّیْ مَعَكُمْ مِّنَ الْمُتَرَبِّصِیْنَؕ۳۱ |
32. Do their wisdom tell them this or they are people contumacious? | 32. اَمْ تَاْمُرُهُمْ اَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهٰذَاۤ اَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُوْنَۚ۳۲ |
33. Or they say 'He has made this Quran, Nay rather they believe not'. | 33. اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ تَقَوَّلَهٗ١ۚ بَلْ لَّا یُؤْمِنُوْنَۚ۳۳ |
34. Then let them bring a single discourse like this, if they are truthful. | 34. فَلْیَاْتُوْا بِحَدِیْثٍ مِّثْلِهٖۤ اِنْ كَانُوْا صٰدِقِیْنَؕ۳۴ |
35. Have they not been created by any lineage or they are themselves creators? | 35. اَمْ خُلِقُوْا مِنْ غَیْرِ شَیْءٍ اَمْ هُمُ الْخٰلِقُوْنَؕ۳۵ |
36. Or they have created the heavens and the earth? Nay, rather they are not convinced. | 36. اَمْ خَلَقُوا السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ١ۚ بَلْ لَّا یُوْقِنُوْنَؕ۳۶ |
37. Or they possess the treasure of your Lord or they are incharge of affairs' | 37. اَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَآىِٕنُ رَبِّكَ اَمْ هُمُ الْمُصَۜیْطِرُوْنَؕ۳۷ |
38. Or they have any ladder by means of which they hear, then let their listener bring a clear authority. | 38. اَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌ یَّسْتَمِعُوْنَ فِیْهِ١ۚ فَلْیَاْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُمْ بِسُلْطٰنٍ مُّبِیْنٍؕ۳۸ |
39. Has He daughters and you sons? | 39. اَمْ لَهُ الْبَنٰتُ وَ لَكُمُ الْبَنُوْنَؕ۳۹ |
40. Or you ask some wage from them, so that they are pressed under a load of debt | 40. اَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ اَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِّنْ مَّغْرَمٍ مُّثْقَلُوْنَؕ۴۰ |
41. Or they have unseen with them by which they give command. | 41. اَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَیْبُ فَهُمْ یَكْتُبُوْنَؕ۴۱ |
42. Or they are intending any plot? But it is the infidels who are to be caught in the plot. | 42. اَمْ یُرِیْدُوْنَ كَیْدًا١ؕ فَالَّذِیْنَ كَفَرُوْا هُمُ الْمَكِیْدُوْنَؕ۴۲ |
43. Or they have any other god besides Allah? Sanctified is Allah from their polytheism | 43. اَمْ لَهُمْ اِلٰهٌ غَیْرُ اللّٰهِ١ؕ سُبْحٰنَ اللّٰهِ عَمَّا یُشْرِكُوْنَ۴۳ |
44. And if they should see a fragment of the sky falling down, they would say then, it is clouds piled up. | 44. وَ اِنْ یَّرَوْا كِسْفًا مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًا یَّقُوْلُوْا سَحَابٌ مَّرْكُوْمٌ۴۴ |
45. Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall swoon. | 45. فَذَرْهُمْ حَتّٰى یُلٰقُوْا یَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِیْ فِیْهِ یُصْعَقُوْنَۙ۴۵ |
46. The day their plot shall avail them not at all, and not they shall be helped. | 46. یَوْمَ لَا یُغْنِیْ عَنْهُمْ كَیْدُهُمْ شَیْـًٔا وَّ لَا هُمْ یُنْصَرُوْنَؕ۴۶ |
47. And undoubtedly, for the unjust people there is a torment before this, but most of them know not. | 47. وَ اِنَّ لِلَّذِیْنَ ظَلَمُوْا عَذَابًا دُوْنَ ذٰلِكَ وَ لٰكِنَّ اَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا یَعْلَمُوْنَ۴۷ |
48. And O beloved prophet! Remain patient for the order of your Lord, that verily you are before Our eyes, and sanctify your Lord praising Him when stand. | 48. وَ اصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَاِنَّكَ بِاَعْیُنِنَا وَ سَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِیْنَ تَقُوْمُۙ۴۸ |
49. And sanctify Him in the night and after the setting of the stars. | 49. وَ مِنَ الَّیْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَ اِدْبَارَ النُّجُوْمِ۠۴۹ |
